Is it time to panic in Beantown?
The Boston Red Sox celebrated the 100th Anniversary of their home ballpark (Fenway Park) Friday afternoon in a game against their bitterly hated rivals, the New York Yankees.
It was supposed to be a day of celebrating past Red Sox legends, current heroes, and throwback uniforms. However, The New York Yankees never got that memo, as a swing from third baseman Alex Rodriguez cleared the signature “Green Monster” in Boston as the Yankees’ cruised to a 6-2 victory dropping the Red Sox to a dismal (4-9) on the season.
Current Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine has been under fire over the past few weeks after being swept by the defending American League Champion Texas Rangers, and criticizing the efforts of his ball club as they have come out of the gates to a terribly slow start.
